The HHS wrestling team traveled north on route 4 last night to face Northern and Lackey in a tri-meet in Northern’s new gym….it was a very good night for our Canes!
HHS started the evening with a big win over Lackey 48-21, avenging an early season loss to the Chargers in the La Plata tourney. Our JV then took over before the match with NHS. Our JV wrestlers battled hard and and rolled on to 8 wins setting the tone for the match with the Patriots.
The Northern gym was loud and filled with cheering fans…parents, families, alumni from both HHS and NHS…all ready to see who would come out on top!
After some back and forth matches and some of our HHS boys avenging losses in an early season tourney, our Canes finished on top with a 51-25 victory! This match was fun, both teams threw their best at each other and certainly entertained the crowd. Cross county rivals, wrestlers/friends, hard fought match….awesome stuff!
Huntingtown is starting to meet their potential, our boys are buying in and leaving everything on the mat each time out but we still have a ways to go to reach our goals…we’ll get their! Every practice, every match, forward!!!!
HHS heads to Poolesville this Friday and Saturday for the final tourney of the regular season….more work for our Canes….hopefully the weather cooperates!
